The Anna Lindh Foundation considers of historical importance the events which are taking place in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and particularly the democratic change which has been undertaken by the people of Egypt after 18 days of a peaceful and captivating mobilization. As an institution created for promoting intercultural dialogue, the Foundation considers of utmost significance the participation in those events of men and women of all walks of life and different beliefs, united by their will to call for a better future for their country.
Based in Alexandria , the Foundation has been a privileged witness of an unprecedented social movement involving many youth striving for Freedom, dignity and Social Justice and moved by values and principles which are at the heart of the Anna Lindh Foundation mission. The Foundation praises all the peaceful demonstrators who lost their lives during those uprisings.
During those two weeks, the Foundation has been able to keep on its main activities thanks to the collaboration of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, where our Headquarters are located, and the commitment of Alexandria citizens in defense of their cultural institutions. We want also to express our esteem and gratitude to the people of Alexandria at large, for ensuring the daily life in public spaces and neighborhoods we live in. The Foundation valued also very much the attitude of the Egyptian army contributing to the security of the population and our safety and the progressive return to normality.
The events taking place in Egypt and Tunisia have sparked interest and empathy across the Euro-Mediterranean societies. Most of the Networks of the Foundation, gathering more than 3000 civil society organizations, have expressed their admiration and solidarity with the Egyptian and Tunisian societies. They have already suggested the launching of a common Initiative focused on fostering citizenship and participation as a first answer to events, which deserve, of course, a long term and sustainable response for an institution like the Anna Lindh Foundation.
In collaboration with its Networks, the Foundation will define and launch as soon as possible an initiative responding to the new challenges we face in the region. Our main goal is to contribute to the strengthening of civil societies, and to take stock of the new demands emerging among Youth for promoting intercultural dialogue across the Mediterranean .
Some of these demands were raised during the Anna Lindh Forum organized in March 2010. Some were highlighted by the Report on Intercultural Trends published recently by the Foundation. As an institution working with and for the civil society, we consider that the recent events have more than confirmed those observations and are full of lessons, which need to be learnt and included in our programme for the coming years. We hope they will be a major contribution for the building of a common and shared Euro-Mediterranean future based on the values of freedom, dialogue, mutual respect and citizenship.

Déclaration de la Fondation Anna Lindh
Alexandrie; 13 février 2011: La Fondation Anna Lindh considère d'une importance historique les événements qui se déroulent dans la région Euro-méditerranéenne, et en particulier le changement démocratique qui a été entrepris par le peuple de l'Egypte après 18 jours d'une mobilisation pacifique et captivante. En tant qu'institution créée pour promouvoir le dialogue interculturel, la Fondation estime de la plus haute importance la participation à ces événements d'hommes et de femmes de tous les horizons et des croyances différentes, unis par leur volonté d’appeler à un avenir meilleur pour leur pays.
Basée à Alexandrie, la Fondation a été un témoin privilégié d'un mouvement social sans précédent impliquant de nombreux jeunes luttant pour la liberté, la dignité et la justice sociale et mus par les valeurs et les principes qui sont au cœur de la mission de la Fondation Anna Lindh. La Fondation rend hommage à tous les manifestants pacifiques qui ont perdu la vie au cours de ces soulèvements.
Durant ces deux semaines, la Fondation a été en mesure de continuer ses activités principales grâce à la collaboration de la Bibliotheca Alexandrina, où notre siège social est situé, ainsi que l'engagement des citoyens d'Alexandrie pour la défense de leurs institutions culturelles. Nous voulons également exprimer notre estime et notre gratitude au peuple d'Alexandrie dans son ensemble, pour avoir permis à la vie quotidienne de continuer dans les espaces publics et les quartiers où nous vivons. La Fondation a également apprécié l'attitude de l'armée égyptienne qui a contribué à la sécurité de la population et notre sécurité ainsi qu’au retour progressif à la normalité.
Les événements qui se déroulent en Egypte et en Tunisie ont suscité un intérêt et empathie à travers les sociétés euro-méditerranéennes. La plupart des réseaux de la Fondation, regroupant plus de 3000 organisations de la société civile, ont exprimé leur admiration et leur solidarité avec les sociétés égyptienne et tunisienne. Ils ont déjà suggéré le lancement d'une initiative commune axée sur la promotion de la citoyenneté et la participation comme une première réponse à des événements qui méritent, bien sûr, une réponse à long terme et durable pour une institution comme la Fondation Anna Lindh.
En collaboration avec ses réseaux, la Fondation devra définir et lancer dès que possible une initiative afin de répondre aux nouveaux défis auxquels nous sommes confrontés dans la région. Notre objectif principal est de contribuer au renforcement des sociétés civiles, et de faire le point des nouvelles demandes émergeant parmi les jeunes pour promouvoir le dialogue interculturel à travers la Méditerranée.
Certaines de ces demandes ont été soulevées lors du Forum Anna Lindh organisé en mars 2010. Certaines ont été soulignées dans le Rapport sur les tendances interculturelles publié récemment par la Fondation. En tant qu'institution travaillant avec et pour la société civile, nous considérons que les récents événements ont plus que confirmé ces observations et sont pleins de leçons qui doivent être apprises et incluses dans notre programme pour les années à venir. Nous espérons qu'elles seront une contribution majeure à la construction d'un avenir euro-méditerranéen commun et partagé, fondé sur les valeurs de liberté, du dialogue, du respect mutuel et de la citoyenneté.

بيان مؤسسة آنا ليند
ترحب مؤسسة آنا ليند بهذا التغير التاريخى و الديمقراطى فى مصر و ذلك عقب 18 يوما من التظاهر السلمى المبهر الذى قام به المجتمع المصرى. فمن خلال مقرها بمدينة الاسكندرية، استطاعت المؤسسة ان تحظى بفرصة متابعة هذه الاحداث عن كثب من خلال هذه التظاهرة الشبابية الغير مسبوقة و التى تطالب بالحرية و الكرامة و العدالة الاجتماعية، و هى جميعها مبادئ و قيم تأتى فى قلب مهمة مؤسسة آنا ليند.
كمؤسسة أنشأت خصيصا لتعزيز الحوار بين الثقافات، نحن نؤكد على أهمية مشاركة النساء و الرجال من جميع الطبقات الاجتماعية و مختلف المعتقدات و التى جمعتهم إرادة واحدة الا و هى تطلعهم الى مستقبل أفضل لوطنهم. كما تعبر المؤسسة بمدى تقديرها لهؤلاء المتظاهرين السلميين الذين فقدوا أرواحهم خلال هذه الأحداث.
فعلى مدى أسبوعين، استطاعت مؤسسة آنا ليند ان تباشر أنشطتها بفضل دعم مكتبة الاسكندرية حيث مقر المؤسسة، و بفضل مواطني الاسكندرية الذين قاموا بحماية المؤسسات الثقافية فى المدينة. كما نريد ان نعبر عن امتناننا و تقديرنا للمجتمع السكندري باكمله لعمله من اجل المحافظة على استمرارية الحياة اليومية و امن الأحياء التى نعيش بها. كما تقدر المؤسسة ايضا الدور الذى قام به الجيش من اجل المحافظة على امن المواطنين و سلامتنا و اعادة الحياة الى طبيعتها.
فالاحداث التى تشهدها مصر و تونس قد جذبت اهتمام و تضامن الشعوب الاورومتوسطية. فمعظم الشبكات التابعة للمؤسسة و التى تضم اكثر من 2500 منظمة من المجتمع المدنى، قد عبرت عن إعجابها و تضامنها مع المجتمع المصرى و التونسى. كما قاموا باقتراح لإطلاق مبادرة مشتركة حول موضوع المواطنة و المشاركة كرد فعل اولى لهذه الأحداث التى تستحق بالطبع ردة فعل طويلة المدى و دائمة من قبل مؤسسة مثل آنا ليند.
ستقوم المؤسسة، بالتعاون مع شبكتها، بصياغة و إطلاق مبادرة فى أسرع وقت ممكن تتماشى مع التحديات الجديدة التى تشهدها المنطقة. فهدفنا الاساسى هو المساهمة فى ترسيخ عمل المجتمع المدنى و موائمة المتطلبات الجديدة للشباب مما سيساهم فى تعزيز الحوار بين الثقافات فى منطقة المتوسط.
فبعض هذه المتطلبات قد تم الإشارة اليها سواء من خلال منتدى آنا ليند الذى عقد فى مارس 2010، او من خلال تقرير آنا ليند و الذى نشرته المؤسسة مؤخرا. فالمؤسسة التى تعمل مع و من اجل المجتمع المدنى تعتبر ان الأحداث الأخيرة قد قامت بتأكيد ملاحظتها فى هذا الشأن، كما تتضمن العديد من الدروس التى يجب الاستفادة منها و إدخالها ضمن برنامج المؤسسة فى السنوات المقبلة. نتمنا ان تقوم هذه التغيرات بالمساهمة فى بناء مستقبل اورومتوسطى مشترك يقوم على أسس الحرية و الحوار و الاحترام المتبادل و المواطنة.
